History:
Radical Faeries are a longstanding and growing movement of queer people celebrating diversity. We are friends and neighbors who encompass a broad range of ages, interests, body types, gender identities, ethnic backgrounds, occupations, talents and fashion sense.
Blue Heron is a working farm in upstate NY, it is the home of Bryan and Gary who have been hosting the event for 40 + years. They raise goats, chickens, and produce maple syrup. The farm consists of fields, woods, meadows, and a pond for swimming. There are many places to pitch your tent. Facilities are primitive. Clothing is always optional. Smoking is allowed in designated areas.
What to bring:
Clothes for warm days and cool nights-Musical instruments-Plants/seeds for exchange-Positive attitude.
Tent and camping gear-Flashlight- Creativity-Sunblock and insect repellant-Swimming attire & towels- Games-Lipstick, jewelry & fabulous drag. Please leave your pets at home.
What to expect:
Daily - Vegetarian Meals created and prepared collectively. Friendship. Fellowship. Hot Tub, Sauna. Heart Circles, massage circles, camp fires, drumming, music. Bring something to share.
Tuesday- Ice Cream Social hosted by Bryan and Gregg-wear your Sunday best!
Wednesday-Movie Night by The Boys of Blue Heron with Tucker Cooking and Bryan and Gary baking!
Thursday---Canadian Cabaret with dinner and live music.
Friday Afternoon: Hospital Gown fashion show. Gary has retired and there are plenty of gowns for you to create your own special look. Bring some embellishments to make it spectacular. Hosted by Bryan!
Friday----Plattsburgh Girlz hosting dinner followed by a Bonfire followed by Dance Party!
Saturday - Know Talent Show. Bring your know talent to share.
Cost
We ask for $20 per day, more if you can, less if you can't. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Fee covers food and upgrades to facilities. This year we have improved the roads and increased solar panels for bunk house.
