Profile text:I've only recently come to accept the idea that I might be too old to wonder what I want to become when I grow up. Painful, that.
While I've been deciding, I spent a full career as an Interior Architect, designing commercial offices, hotels and more. I "retired" into a life as College Professor, teaching the technical skills needed to make design a reality. I should have done it from the beginning - I greatly enjoy it, and I'm good at it.
I like being outside, I like DOING. While I've been road bicycling for a lot of years, I only took up running in my mid-60's. I've gotten slower, but my joy is the movement, not competition. So long as SOMEONE finishes behind me, I'm fine with that.
Cooking - especially baking. Main meals are almost always improvisations (sometimes actually good...), but baking is science. Dining out - not especially adventurous, but I enjoy greatly being out with others, sharing, talking and laughing.
What I seek now is a process, not an event. I want to make friends first, one or more of whom might become good friends. One might, I hope, become more.
