Nearly half the men on SD are 60 or over. This is a plea to encourage you all to ensure you take a PSA test regularly: the trend is more important than the level. The earlier prostate cancer is diagnosed the better the treatment options and the less it affects your life including your sex life.

In the UK prostate cancer now kills more men than breast cancer kills women. Admittedly in terms of years of life lost breast cancer is more destructive because it affects younger women while prostate cancer is an older man's condition.

If you are a catcher [or, if you must, a "bottom"] make sure there is at least a week between your PSA test and the last time you had sex.
