Update May 30th. At the beginning of the month Thrive reached out to me with a two month old basset hound puppy who needed a home. A few days later Coop came to live with me forever. I am sure Ballou found us for each other.

For those who have met him, Ballou passed on this morning peacefully. He was nearly 16, we had a great run, but it still hurts.

I grew up outside of Boston and have lived in So. Cal since 1988, except for 2 years in Sicily.

The new photo is Ballou, the senior basset I've adopted through Thrive Animal Rescue in San Diego (a great organization).
