Thanks for all the great feedback on this site. It's gratifying to encounter supportive gay men, for a change. And though I do have my primal side (and who doesn't?), it doesn't dominate my life. Men are so much more interesting, and hotter, if one can access all the elements in them, combining together to create a multi-faceted whole. And that's what I want to share of myself, and find in others, and maybe even in one other.

73-yr.-old muscular white male, with silver flattop and blue eyes, seeks other male, to share adventures. Born, raised, and educated on the East Coast. Divorced the wife/came out of the closet in 1985, then headed West in 1987. No children. Have since lived on Kaua'i, Oahu, Phoenix, and San Diego, and now St. Petersburg, Florida, where, curiously, my grandfather wintered more than 60 years ago.

My journey has enabled me to become the man I could be, at long last, and I'm interested in sharing myself. I'm a grown man and I want to be with a man. If I wanted a woman, I'd have stayed with my ex-wife. As Alan Bates says in the play, "Butley," "I'm a one-woman man, and I've had mine."

Amen Brother.

Rather than compare my wanderings to those of Odysseus, who took 10 years to return home after the Trojan War, I compare mine to those of Aeneas, prince of Troy, who, after his home was lost, took 10 years to find a new one, in his case, founding a city that later became the forerunner of Rome. I'm not looking to found the equivalent of Rome, but a nice life with someone would be gratifying.... LOL

On another, more spiritual note, let me share with you all a line I heard in a play by Tom Stoppard, called "The Coast of Utopia:"

"It takes wit and courage to make our way while our way is making us, with no consolation to count on but art and the summer lightning of personal happiness, but if nothing is certain everything is possible, and that's what gives us our human dignity."

Each of our journeys is so personal and diverse, that I am sometimes amazed when our paths intertwine.

Over the years, I've traveled to Italy, Greece, Asia Minor (excuse me, Turkey), Egypt, and Peru, and would probably enjoy returning to any one, or all, of them. In each place, I had amazing experiences. It is true that life is indeed an adventure. (Have never been to Germany, especially Berlin, where there are 2 archaeological museums I would love to see. I even speak German, for what that's worth. Also French. Though not much call for either of them here when I lived on the West coast, or many here on the east. I must admit, though, that climate is a factor in my journey; I now have no interest in living where they have winter. Done there, been that, for over 38 years, and I've had enough of cold climes.

I could tell you I love art (I'm a painter as well), theatre (well, I ought to; I was an actor in New York for 15 years, or, as I am wont to say, that and $2.75 will get you a ride on the New York subway...), and have a special devotion to Art Deco, resulting in the accumulation of many examples, including a couple of shelvesful of books. In addition, I have found that I have come to view life as a spiritual journey, whether I will or no; it's up to me to decide how I'm going to enjoy it.

It would be endearing to share this life travel. Might also be fun. Sharing can have its challenges, but also expansion. There are great insights to be learned from hearing about what others love, and unimaginable, unexpected growth.

So, let there be perpetual Spring in our hearts, as we share with each other, and wend our way together along this patchwork path we call Life.

John
