Profile text:I'm a recently retired professor of Italian and Latin with serious cultural interests: history, art history, archaeology, literature, classical music (especially opera), and others. I am also a published novelist - one "gay romance," one reflection on coming out and mourning, and one forthcoming homage to Henry James.
I have a very beautiful rowhouse in Baltimore City; it and my garden give me a great deal of enjoyment. I love entertaining and have a broad circle of friends, gay and straight, of all ages from 20 to 90. Three of my dearest friends are my dog and my two brother cats.
I am a religious person, an elder in a very liberal and progressive Presbyterian church. I travel a lot and go to Italy at least once or twice a year. I have many good friends there and my life has been greatly enriched by many years' interaction with Italy's wonderful culture and people.
Sexually I'm attracted to masculine, good-looking young guys who let me in - physically and mentally. I've got a dominant streak, but I'm always a gentleman.
Unfortunately, on this site I've met a lot of men who like to waste time chatting endlessly about their fantasies of how a meeting might go, then find one excuse after another for not meeting, or else just chicken out. Another note - physical attraction is important to me, and I am not comfortable corresponding if I cannot see at least a recent face picture.
Life is too short to waste our own or others' time!
